Dawne Fraser

Dawne Fraser has accumulated a lifetime of knowledge in the experiential learning field. She has been a motivational speaker and workshop facilitator in the area of inclusion and self-empowerment since the early 1970's. Some of Dawne's most notable achievements include the development of a postural system for student learning, as well as being the first person in Halifax ever to care for two terminally ill parents together at home.

After receiving degrees in Psychology and Adaptive Physical Education at Dalhousie University, Dawne went on to attain certifications as a Hearing Aid Audiologist, a Hearing Aid Practitioner, and later as a Specialty Dog Trainer. Dawne's career path has led her to directing a leadership training and recreation program for deaf children and youth, to owning a hearing aid business, to assisting persons with a disability in the mainstream education system.

In her spare time, Dawne practices aikido and values this opportunity to be active as a vehicle for self-expression. She encourages others through her work to do the same.
