Jennifer Kavanagh is an Early Childhood Educator and a trained NCCP Flag Football and Special Olympics Community Coach. Four years ago, her children became involved with the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiers (CADS), and it was truly a life changing experience, leading Jennifer and her family to a path of active living. The thrill of skiing and the GREAT people at CADS helped them overcome their fears and many falls, and within a few short weeks, Jennifer was skiing with her children and feeling proud. Before CADS they had never experienced the thrill of the outdoors together, particularly during the harsh Ottawa winters! Exposure to snow skiing turned into an opportunity to try water skiing with the Ski Ability program, which in turn led Jennifer to the Active Living Alliance. Through volunteering with these three organizations, she has learned that being active is all about taking steps to try to do something in any way that you can.
