Kim believes firmly that all people with disabilities should be encouraged and supported in living active and full lives. She has been totally blind since birth and was lucky enough to have a family who put no barriers in her path, and who encouraged her to lead an active and full life. She grew up doing everything everyone else did: from riding a bicycle, to learning to swim, skate, ski, climb trees and
participate in all aspects of life and the community. Kim feels that this active lifestyle has enabled her to be a healthy, happy person with many diverse interests and abilities. She lives in Ottawa and is a Music Therapist and volunteer coordinator. Formerly a paralympic medalist in swimming, and currently a storyteller, Kim loves sharing her experiences with others and learning from everyone as well. She is thrilled, honoured, sand excited to be an All Abilities Welcome speaker, and we are thrilled to have her.
