Born and raised in Ottawa, Shelley Ann Morris has more than ten years of professional experience within the social service field. Currently, Shelley Ann is a member of the Recruitment and Referral Services team at Volunteer Ottawa. She is passionate about inclusive active living and is a member of the Dovercourt Recreation Association, where she participates in Group Fitness, Strength Training and SPINNING classes as well as serving on Dovercourt's Board of Directors. For the past 14 years, Shelley Ann has participated in the CN Tower Stair Climb. In addition, she skates on the Rideau Canal and recently completed her first 5K run. When she was young, Shelley Ann was discouraged from participating in physical activities for fear that she would get hurt. She feels that things have come a long way since then.

Being fit has many advantages; physical/mental well-being, opportunities to make friends, the chance to meet and exceed athletic goals, and countless other benefits. While many can easily take advantage of fitness programs in their community, the road to full, integrated participation is often difficult for those with disabilities.
